Dr Sissler works on diverse aspects of mitochondrial RNA biology. She is particularly interested in mitochondrial aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases in as diverses biological models as humans and trypanosomatids. Dr Sissler studies the basic principles of their orhanisation and molecular functions as well as their involvement in human pathologies.
